Internship program for Software projects

Internship
The objective of summer internship is to expose students to the professional environment, so that they work there for sometime and learn the professional work culture.
In today’s world of globalization the products are not developed at single development center, instead there are different centers of excellence for each phase of product life cycle. For eg: a product is conceptualized at one place, designed at another, executed at another, validated at another, etc.
In the whole life cycle the most important and common factor is communication. Communication holds a key role in development of a good product.
Usually students try to get internship in a company, but due to lack of options and awareness they end up doing some courses like networking, embedded software, java, etc.

I feel it's high time that students should understand that these courses can be done anytime during their learning phase, but the internship time should be properly utilized to get the experience of professional environment. They have to be proactive and should pursue companies to get such experiences. However not all can get to that level.
Another option for this Internship experience is very well addressed by CareerInfoline, it not only solves the problem of getting an experience of professional environment but also gives a good understanding of a software development life cycle by helping students interact with industry people and execute a project under their guidance.
CareerInfoline Internship helps students to develop products in this industrial simulated environment with the help of their industrial mentors.
Their mentors take students through all the phases of a software development life cycle giving them a professional flavor of software development as part of internship.
In the whole process students interact with different industry people and not only learn the professional culture and technology, but also hone their communication skills as they interact with different groups working from different locations to complete the project.
The project development phase for one such project has been mentioned below.

Project Phase:
  1. Initial brainstorming for project requirements and presentation. (7 days)
  2. Work flow design of the project. (12 days)
  3. Implementation. (20 days)
  4. Extensive Tool Testing. (5 days)
  5. Bug fixes (12 days)
  6. Final Presentation, Delivery. Learning’s and future scope of improvements. (4 days)
Last year TIP was successful in placing 18 out of 20 of it's students in Software companies in India. List

Freshers Job: Focus On The Strengths in Resume

Not only it is true that the first impression lasts long, but also the first impression marks more. The adage has been there and applied frequently in many things in life. It is actively spoken off by many people off and on, but the actual application is quite simplistic. In the resumes that go out for various job applications and for introductions to an organization, the adage fits on perfectly. Whenever people need to approach an organization, they need to support their approach with a written document. This document which is usually called as a resume goes on to tell about the applicant. When the resumes are sent for a purpose of job, many things need to be addressed. And these are to be addressed in the most appropriate manner.

One cannot afford to write down the qualifications along with the names and addresses. The rest of the things hold as much importance as the list of qualifications. One of the important things that should be mentioned in the resumes is about the strength of the candidate. The company needs to know from the outset, why they should be at all, going for a particular candidate. The answer to this why should be properly revealed in the strengths that one has to make him or her, a part of the applied organization. Since most of the companies are searching for leaders in their respective fields, the leadership qualities and the positions held during the student days should be outlined. Any activities in the social arena are to be mentioned clearly. Extra curricular activities are being given a bit of importance in the work fields also. So, they should be mentioned in the resume.

Companies are searching to hire a performer and not a qualifier full of degrees. Any proper internship or training in the respective field of work should be mentioned in the shortest but cryptic manner possible.
One last thing that has always been thought to be of an edge is a mention in the resumes about the benefits that the addition of the candidate can have for the company. Even though, it might sound a bit of over the top, yet, many interviewers find it interesting when candidates are forthcoming and not laid back. Such resumes are not very commonly found as many people are not able to work on the resume representation. There are many organizations nowadays that provide professional help to make the resumes. Services of such organizations should be taken, whenever there is a lot at stake with the resume. If someone is interested in making an impression before the game begins then the stress should be laid on the way a resume is written. And this habit should be developed from the very early days as then the old habits would die hard. Students would not require making a new resume every time they are up for a job. They are now well trained to make a resume for themselves in the later years and know what to focus and what to leave out.

Things an Engineering student must know

1) SWOT without the T* (S- Strength, W- Weakness, O-Opportunity, T-Threat)

After four years of studying, an engineering graduate must know his strengths and the exact nature of the work he/she is looking for. Because there are some who can't really figure out what they want to do even at the end of four years. Following are the four types of engineers that usually exist. (If you belong to the fifth type, kindly write back to me.)

a) Tech guy
If you are confident enough of your technical skills, then apply at an engineering-oriented organization where practical work is required. Simple and trouble free!

b) Grammars with good grades
Not any good in the lab? But you can cram things easily and were lucky enough to pass your exams with flying colors? Then you can go for teaching and the academic side of engineering.

c) Researchers
If you love to write, then the best thing you can do is to fuse your professional studies with your passion. You can go for technical report writings, research paper writings and also end user manuals writings.

d) Communicator
A rare breed but they still exist. If you are good at communication and your convincing power is strong, then you can opt to be a sales engineer (highest paid are the ones who bring business for the organization) and also go for the technical support side.  Whether it is technical side or administration side, your should know how to communicate with business and other people.

e) *T - without the 'T' because I think at the start of our professional lives, we shouldn't consider anything as a threat.

2. Switching careers

Honestly speaking, after the third year, some of us are completely sure that this is not what we actually wanted to do, but at this stage completing the degree is the only option left. So yes complete your degree and then do a self-analysis. If not engineering, then what exactly is your cup of tea? It's high time to muddle through the outside pressure.

3. Job role

Before landing any kind of job, you must know the progressive role of the job and its hierarchy. You just can't let anyone take advantage of your skills and degree. In the current situation, organizations are hiring engineers where they used to hire laymen. So keep your ears and eyes open!

4. Trust me, I am an engineer

Act like an engineer. As you have the most influential bachelors degree. Your body language, dressing, confidence and attitude should articulate before you speak. No 'Harry Potter' specs and no baggy jeans. Look tough and smart. Do you know that on August 18, 2010 the Guinness Book of World Records chose 'ENGINEERING' as the TOUGHEST course among all other courses! And you nailed it.  Your appearance itself tells that you are an ENGINEER.

5. Human resource

Engineers must know the role of HR, so that their rights are not oppressed. If you can't afford to do a Professional Practice or HR course, then at least Google it.  Engineers should know humans are assets for a firm or an organization. Respect the human value. "Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it."   Matthew 7:13-14.

6. Sexual harassment

Engineers are too busy making circuits work all four years. When they step in to practical life and see the behavior of people around, they are completely shattered. They actually know nothing about how to survive in such situations. So understand that flirting, dirty jokes and abuses (text, call and verbal) are sexual harassment. This is a serious threat for a naive engineer and affects his/her professional and personal life.

7. Social responsibility

Not only engineers but every graduate in this country should understand his/her social responsibility. Student life was fun but it's OVER. Now it's time to pay back in any way you can but more important is to realize that. Don't try to implement any logical approach here. Think positive because sometimes the most useless circuits work! Understand the people near you and make use of them to lift from your position without disturbing others.  Hardwork and God's grace is the father and mother of the son "success".  Don't deviate the way of your social responsibility in order to reap the future harvest.  When you get a good and comfortable amount as salary, use this for your future and your family.  Saving is the main source of social responsibility to save for your next generation.   Your expectation to spend the huge money for your pleasure will lead to so many complications in future.  Steady and careful spending of money is the right attitude when you get a comfortable salary all on a sudden.  It is the responsibility of every Engineer to build an UN-corrupted and UN-polluted India or a nation.  Children (though you are an engineer you are child of your parents), obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. Honor your father and mother - which is the first commandment with a promise - that it may go well with you and that you may enjoy long life on the earth" (Eph 6:1-3)

Resume mistakes to be avoided

The main hurdle between you and your entry to the interview room is your resume. Today, market is flooded with resumes of job seekers. Therefore, it is important to stand out from the crowd. Usually a candidate makes mistakes while writing a resume for the first time. Here are few top mistakes to avoid while writing a resume.

1. Personal details
Other than your full name, contact information, including email, phone number and address, you should avoid giving other personal detail in your resume. Information such as your age or anything about our family must not be kept included. It's you who is applying for a job position; you are what matters, not your family background.

2. Unrelated information
You should avoid stating information in your resume that has nothing to do with the job you are applying for. Very often job seekers make this mistake while telling about their hobbies or accomplishments. If you are applying for a software developer position, what sense it would make if you state that you were a dance champion as one of your accomplishments?

3. Highlight on accomplishments, instead of  duties
You must shun phrases like "responsibilities included" or "duties included" and focus on accomplishments that set you apart from other job candidates.

4. A loose objective
The very first thing in your resume that your potential employers would surely look at is the objective statement. So avoid making vague statements like "Seeking a challenging position that offers professional growth". The employers come across such lines probably hundred times a day. Try to say something specific that would serve the employers' need as well as your own.

5. Resume templates
Don't use standard resume templates from any site. You're supposed to be uniquely qualified so the company will choose you among other candidates. Therefore use a little imagination while writing your resume. It'll surely help you a lot.

6. Mentioning your references
References are a good tool to increase your credibility in the eyes of your prospective employer. But you shouldn't list specific references directly on your resume. Instead, References should be given only if specifically requested by the employer.

7. Mentioning salary expectations
Never include salary related points in the resume. You may lose the chance to face the interview.

8. Poorly organized
While writing your resume, you should maintain a proper order of importance. Don't mention about your hobbies at the starting. Moreover, job titles are more important than dates of employment. It's better to put the educational details at the end. If you are a fresh graduate, then only you should highlight it.

9. Typos and Grammatical Errors
Your resume needs to be grammatically perfect otherwise it will create an impression of a careless person in the minds of the employers.

Believing in Yourself, Succeeding and Making Dreams Come True

I have been thinking about aspiration and survival. Take a family and community whose culture places massive value on aspiration and the qualities of life that nurture it - protection, promotion, love and respect, nurturing. The right to believe in yourself; making dreams come true, being real, succeeding, finding fulfillment – without paying a huge price - is an integral part of that culture. Survival is presumed.

Then look at a culture where pain and suffering are elevated to the status of the only worthwhile human experience. The most important person is perhaps the son of God, who ended up on a cross, being tortured to death out of love for ordinary folks. Perhaps each person is born with a brand of sin on their soul, and if they get it wrong in life they end up in hell. Sex is dirty. Poverty, suffering and self-denial are saintly virtues.

Combine that deadly, asphyxiating, soul and heart-destroying culture with perhaps a family one driven by a parent whose needs are paramount, who will even fake crises. Add a dash of molestation or worse to the mix and you end up with a somewhat minimized capacity to survive in the world let alone develop any aspirations you may have.

In such an environment, everybody is trying to survive - and learning from the parent how to do it at the expense of others. If there is a child with talent or strong aspirations, the family will stifle it, and they are unlikely to be aware of what they are doing. The message on the surface may be "we love you" but the real one is "drop dead, there is no ways we are going to let you get ahead."

I had aspirations of what I wanted to do from a young age, but I had a jealous parent and siblings and there was not even enough attention for me to learn how to survive in the world. So I have spent my life wrestling with just survival, when inside my heart and soul I have been longing to fly. My aspirations have always burned from within. But if you do not know how to survive, you can forget about being able to develop your aspirations. I have often felt like a wild animal thrashing against the bars of its cage.

The good news is that you can work with what you were exposed to in the past to change your life forever. I know, because I am doing it; building self-esteem, entitlement and emotional fluency and correcting misshapen beliefs and myths about life and who I am. What my family and my culture could not do for me I am learning to do for myself. Survive well, and flourish, without compromising myself.  I am changing my life and stepping out of history.

I reckon next time I am born it is going to be in a nurturing family culture, with lots of love, emotional fluency, lots of celebration of aspirations, great generosity of spirit - which would be cosmically stepping out of history I guess!

SureFooted Puzzle9

There are 100 prisoners in solitary cells. There's a central living room with one light bulb; this bulb is initially off. No prisoner can see the light bulb from his or her own cell. Everyday, the warden picks a prisoner equally at random, and that prisoner visits the living room. While there, the prisoner can toggle the bulb if he or she wishes. Also, the prisoner has the option of asserting that all 100 prisoners have been to the living room by now. If this assertion is false, all 100 prisoners are shot. However, if it is indeed true, all prisoners are set free. Thus, the assertion should only be made if the prisoner is 100% certain of its validity. The prisoners are allowed to get together one night in the courtyard, to discuss a plan. What plan should they agree on, so that eventually, someone will make a correct assertion?

Ten people land on a deserted island. There they find lots of coconuts and a monkey. During their first day they gather coconuts and put them all in a community pile. After working all day they decide to sleep and divide them into ten equal piles the next morning.

That night one castaway wakes up hungry and decides to take his share early. After dividing up the coconuts he finds he is one coconut short of ten equal piles. He also notices the monkey holding one more coconut. So he tries to take the monkey's coconut to have a total evenly divisible by 10. However when he tries to take it the monkey conks him on the head with it and kills him.

Later another castaway wakes up hungry and decides to take his share early. On the way to the coconuts he finds the body of the first castaway, which pleases him because he will now be entitled to 1/9 of the total pile. After dividing them up into nine piles he is again one coconut short and tries to take the monkey's slightly bloodied coconut. The monkey conks the second man on the head and kills him.

One by one each of the remaining castaways goes through the same process, until the 10th person to wake up gets the entire pile for himself.

What is the smallest number of possible coconuts in the pile, not counting the monkeys?

Job Search Advice: Are You Applying Online, But Getting No Interviews?

Here's a common scenario (and complaint) for job seekers:  "I spend all day long applying to jobs online through Monster.com, CareerBuilder.com, or niche job boards—and I never get a response.  Have I lost the understanding of how this job search works?"

If this is happening to you, you've got to understand that the job search has totally changed from what it was 15 years ago, or even 5 years ago.  Today's job search is different.  It's flooded with job seekers in this terrible economy, and jobs are posted online, so that everyone and their dogs can apply, with just a click of the mouse.  So some of these jobs you're seeing on Monster or Career Builder or some of the bigger niche sites are getting a thousand or more applicants—and I don't care how good you are, it's hard to shine in a room of 1000 people.

What should you do?  Step away from sites like those, other than looking at the job to find out who it's with.  Once you find out which company is hiring, find out who the hiring manager for that job is.

This is where social networks come into play.  You can use LinkedIn, Facebook, and Twitter to identify the hiring manager for that job and then go directly to him because—guess what?  It takes a lot of effort to do that.  So not all of those 1000 folks who sent in that application will contact the hiring manager.  In fact, my guess would be that out of the 1000 people who would apply online, less than 10 will seek out the hiring manager.   Out of those 10, at least 5 will fail with a typo, a misspelled word, bad email syntax, or they just do an overall crummy job with their note, so really, it's 5 out of 1000—and you could be one of those 5.

Why is it so important to get to the hiring manager?  He's the one who's carrying the budget, and who has the problem he's got to solve, so he's super-interested in someone like you.  You have to help him find you.

So, stop applying online.  It just won't work in our current climate.  There are too many applicants, and not enough jobs.  Find the job, find the hiring manager, and go directly to him for the job.

Are You Really Serious About Achieving Your Goals?

If so, here are two simple steps that I share with audiences as a university speaker that really work. And this works not only for me but for hundreds of thousands of people who use slight variations of this system.
Step 1: Make ‘Em Top-of-Mind
To be successful it is crucial that I keep all my goals "totally top of mind". In order to accomplish this I know that I will need to focus and bend each and every one of my 300 billion or so neuron brain cells to this task.
First, I printout a list of all my weekly goals and stick them on the wall right over my desk where I cannot help but look at them each and every day. And the goals look back at me!
Remember, this isn't a to-do list. It's a list of the most important outcomes or goal achievements that I expect to have accomplished by a given day every week. On the left side I write my primary goals for the week (maximum of 3), and on the right side I list my secondary goals (this week I have 8 of those).
Step 2: Find an Accountability Buddy
Another tool that can be amazingly powerful in goal achievement is to have someone who will hold you accountable to achieving your weekly goals. In my case, it is my brother and best friend, Adam.
Every Monday morning we meet to go over our goals. We both play supportive and positive-only re-enforcement roles in achieving our goals. He holds me totally accountable and I serve the same purpose with him. While we are supportive, we also freely dish out a little sass if the other did not follow through on what he said he would during the week. To be candid, we have found that we would much sooner disappoint ourselves than we would disappoint each other.
I setup my primary goals such that achieving even one of them is better than achieving all the secondary or sub-set goals combined. Whenever you achieve one of your weekly goals, just draw a line through it; give yourself a mental high-five and save it. Then at the end of the week, the paper now contains your accountability record for the week. You can see which goals you achieved and which you didn't, and then you can think about how you can improve next week.
Maybe you were overly ambitious. Maybe you got off track because of too many distractions. Analyze your week! Maybe you achieved most of your secondary goals but none of your primaries. Perhaps you even achieved all your goals and now you are ready to step up your efforts. Remember to rejoice in your victories; it will drive you to higher goal achievement.
Both Adam and I keep all of our weekly goal lists on our laptops and review them often as the list of goals is ever expanding and this becomes a great way for both of us to lay the ground for autobiographies (A long term 10 year goal of mine!).
I also like that whenever I see my goal sheet, I see all my goals for the week, and this reminds me of where I want to be by the weekend. I am also reminded of my commitment to Adam.
If you follow these two steps, you stand an excellent chance of achieving whatever it is you want in life. I can personally attest to the fact that I would not be a successful university speaker today if it weren't for this wonderfully simple system.

The age of internet access via mobile is here and continues to grow at a phenomenal rate. According to an Olswang report as of March 2011, 22% of UK consumers had a smartphone (31% of 24-35 year olds) – and these numbers are only going to rise. It has been predicted that by Christmas this year 1 in every 2 Americans will have a smartphone - signifying a huge proportion of the global population.
So what does this mean for software developers?
Developers have become skilled in creating web applications, but with the rising need for these applications to be operated through mobile devices the original application can lose some of its usability. This is something that will continue to be an area of opportunity and growth within the industry, especially as the mobile platform market is yet to be monopolized. Android, Windows mobile and iPhone are all competing for the top spot and so before building mobile applications companies are having to analyse which platform is likely to give them the best long term stability.
Cloud Computing
Cloud computing has hit the headlines of technology news with a bang this year. With the likes of Apple, Microsoft and many of the other big guns creating their own "clouds" interest in cloud computing is peaking.
So what does this mean for software developers?
With increased interest and take up in the cloud, we're likely to see software head towards the pay-per-use route. Many applications are now bought and used infrequently, the cloud brings about the possibility of one host selling "use" of the application to many companies, offering reduced IT expenditure and a further ability to minimize spend on IT infrastructure.
Cloud is also being instrumental in turning software in to more of a service than a product. This means that certain service standards are going to apply and even become key when it comes to companies' bottom line.
Software Development Management
For a while now we have been seeing software development costs escalating. As a result the need has arisen for a better management of software development processes.
So what does this mean for software developers?
With companies looking at implementing efficiencies in software development processes, it's likely we'll begin to see alterations to the processes pretty quickly – something to keep an eye out for!

The power to move on against all odds

Often when we face obstacles in our day-to-day life, our hurdles seem very small in comparison to what many others have to face. The Brooklyn Bridge shows us that dreams that seem impossible can be realised with determination and persistence, no matter what the odds are. Perhaps this is one of the best examples of a never-say-die attitude that overcomes a terrible physical handicap and achieves an impossible goal. It was in 1883, a creative engineer named John Roebling was inspired by an idea to build a spectacular bridge connecting New York with the Long Island. However bridge building experts throughout the world thought that this was an impossible feat and told Roebling to forget the idea. It just could not be done. It was not practical. It had never been done before.
Roebling could not ignore the vision he had in his mind of this bridge. He thought about it all the time and he knew deep in his heart that it could be done. He just had to share the dream with someone else. After much discussion and persuasion he managed to convince his son Washington, an up and coming engineer, that the bridge in fact could be built. Working together for the first time, the father and son developed concepts of how it could be accomplished and how the obstacles could be overcome. With great excitement and inspiration, and the headiness of a wild challenge before them, they hired their crew and began to build their dream bridge.
The project started well, but when it was only a few months underway a tragic accident on the site which took the life of John Roebling. Also, Washington was injured and left with a certain amount of brain damage, which resulted in him not being able to walk or talk or even move.
"We told them so."       "Crazy men and their crazy dreams."  "It`s foolish to chase wild visions."
Everyone had a negative comment to make and felt that the project should be scrapped since the Roeblings were the only ones who knew how the bridge could be built. In spite of his handicap Washington was never discouraged and still had a burning desire to complete the bridge and his mind was still as sharp as ever.
He tried to inspire and pass on his enthusiasm to some of his friends, but they were too daunted by the task. As he lay on his bed in his hospital room, with the sunlight streaming through the windows, a gentle breeze blew the flimsy white curtains apart and he was able to see the sky and the tops of the trees outside for just a moment.
It seemed that there was a message for him not to give up. Suddenly an idea hit him. All he could do was move one finger and he decided to make the best use of it. By moving this, he slowly developed a code of communication with his wife.
He touched his wife's arm with that finger, indicating to her that he wanted her to call the engineers again. Then he used the same method of tapping her arm to tell the engineers what to do. It seemed foolish but the project was under way again.
For 13 years Washington tapped out his instructions with his finger on his wife's arm, until the bridge was finally completed. Today the spectacular Brooklyn Bridge stands in all its glory as a tribute to the triumph of one man's indomitable spirit and his determination not to be defeated by circumstances. It is also a tribute to the engineers and their team work, and to their faith in a man who was considered crazy and foolish by half the world. It stands too as a tangible monument to the love and devotion of his wife who for 13 long years patiently decoded the messages of her husband and told the engineers what to do. This shows us that even the most distant dream can be realized with determination and persistence.

Interview Horror: The Day I Broke Wind in My Interview and Still Got the Job

I was quite pleased to receive an invitation for an Interview as a Project Manager

, my previous experience included technical lead for some large bodies of work but this was the first time that I would take the reigns for an entire project. Needless to say, I prepared exceptionally well for the interview and I was confident that I would leave my mark.

Some tummy rumbles on the morning of the interview were of some concern, but there was no time for a pit stop. I didn't want to fall behind with my travel schedule because I was nervous enough already. Dressed like a million dollars I headed out on time, just as planned.

At the interview room, I was greeted by three well dressed company employees. The manager, a middle aged male in a business suit. The director, a middle aged female in business attire and a younger looking guy in more casual attire who was from finance. The ambience was one of formality, both the manager and director spoke and looked a little stuck-up but it was a great opportunity nevertheless and I wanted in!

Unfortunately we only managed greetings and introductions with fresh air in the room, on exerting my stomach muscles whilst in the process of sitting down I accidentally passed wind! Everyone froze momentarily as they processed the noise – I was busted. I apologized profusely and hoped that it wasn't going to be a smelly one. The younger finance guy had a little smirk on his face but the manager and the director were clearly not impressed.

To my horror the odor from my little accident was profusely offensive. One by one I watched the expressions on the faces of the interview panel change as they caught a whiff of the macabre gas. We couldn't escape – the small room was soon saturated and everyone was too polite to run out holding their breath (or gagging!).

Of the thirty minutes of interview time, I think that twenty five were a write off for everyone involved. Finally, when we got to the last question I felt like I needed to say something about our awkward interview because, lets face it, it hadn't gone well.

"I'd like to say one more thing", I proclaimed.
"I know that this interview was extremely unpleasant for everyone and I would like to apologize once again.

My thoughts were to run out of the room and never return just from shear embracement. But I didn't because I want to work for you so much that I am prepared to go through terrible adversity in order to reach that goal. I know that if, in the unlikely event that I am offered the job that I may be the subject of ridicule during my time here as a result of my interview. But in my eyes that is a small price to pay for the privilege of working for this firm in this position.

As you can see I will not give up and I will not run away no matter how tough the situation. If this unpleasant experience has shown you anything about me, it is that I am one who will tough it out to get the result.", I said.

And with that fine finale we finished the interview.

I was offered the job 24 hours later. Surprisingly, the director later told me that it was my composure under pressure that impressed them – not my speech. She said that I would likely be attending many ‘stinking' meetings and if I could hold my cool the way I did that interview then I would go a long way.

Job Interview Advice: Talking About Salary

Money is a big item on a job seeker's mind, for sure.  You know you're interested in the job, or you wouldn't be there, and the top of the list for you is finding out the mystery of what you could get paid.  But one of the cardinal rules of interviewing for job seekers is:  Never bring up money in your job interview.  It's a BIG no-no.
ALL you talk about in the interview is what they need, what solution they need, what problem they have, who's been able to fix it before, and how you can fix it.
It's a big worry for people, but it's important that you don't talk about money in the job interview.  Why?  You don't have anything to talk about until they make you an offer.   In fact, if they ask you about money, treat it lightly and say something like this:
  • "Are you making me an offer?" (This is actually a nice icebreaker, and some hiring managers will actually say "yes," and it will change the conversation.)
  • "I'm looking for a great opportunity, and I assume the pay will be commensurate with the responsibility." (Who can argue with that?)
  • "Unless you're making me a job offer, we're still trying to figure out if this is going to be a good fit for both of us, and I think that if it's a good fit, we'll be able to work out the money issue."
But don't bring up money.  If you bring it up before, it will damage you as a candidate.  So, don't ask about the bonuses.  Don't ask about the salary.  Ask nothing about it.  You sell, sell, sell yourself throughout the interview, and talk about the money when they make you the offer.
